Pricing

3 credits a document

One page or forty, the price is the same. Per-page billing would make the cost unpredictable for exactly the caller least able to predict its own output — and an agent that cannot forecast a cost cannot be trusted with a loop.

on Base · x402 pay-per-call

For agents with a wallet and no login. POST the same body, get a 402 with terms, sign it, retry with an X-Payment header. The premium over the credit price covers settlement and hosting a link for an account that does not exist.

  • No key, no signup, no dashboard
  • A bad request is refused free, before a price is quoted
  • Payment settles only after the PDF exists
  • The link is hosted for 30 days

How credits work

One wallet, every Ounie app

A credit is one cent. The same balance pays for Paperwork, every other Ounie app, and questions on ounie.com. There is no subscription here and no plan to choose.

Reserved first, settled after

Credits are taken before the render and only recorded as spent once a PDF exists. If the render fails, the reserve goes back to the exact three pools it came from — monthly, purchased and earned — rather than being dumped into one.

A short wallet is refused, not overdrawn

A call that cannot be paid for returns 402 with the shortfall and a top-up link. An agent looping on this endpoint can never run up a bill it did not have the balance for.

Reads are free forever

Listing, opening, re-downloading and sharing a document you already paid for costs nothing, permanently. So do template samples, pricing lookups and balance checks.

Monthly allowance spends first

If your Ounie plan includes monthly credits, they drain before anything you bought — so credits you paid for are never lost to expiry.

Billing, invoices and payment methods all live on ounie.com — Paperwork never takes a card.
